I am sure that that is what most of us think of when we look at these brands because that is who their owners are. And this is the Key to marketing your business.

Bring who you are out and stand for who you are and what you believe in. When you are marketing, market your passion, what you love to do, not simply the business.

Let me give you an example:

When I am searching for a Graphic Designer to design my new logo and other such matters, after interviewing a few I know that they can all probably do the job, so how do I decide who I want to work with, who I want to give my money to?

I personally only work with the company that loves what they do, are happy to express that passion and have my interests, as their main concern. Many businesses are out there tuned to the famous radio station WII-FM. You know, ‘What’s In It For Me’. That’s not how it works, not when you are small anyway. Your focus has to be, ‘How Can I Help My Client?’

Our key to differentiate ourselves is rarely from the actual work we are doing but rather with who we are and the help and solutions we want to provide our customers with, via our passion.
So when you are thinking about marketing, start with WHY you do what you do, what do you love about it and then think about what you want to GIVE your customers. What is the benefit for them by working with you and your company? What experience are you going to give them? How will their business and their life be improved by working with you?

Now when you focus on your passion and how you can truly help others, the benefit is that when you have to work on your marketing, it is no longer a chore. You see it for what it truly is;
YOU! Expressing your passion to the whole world.

After all isn’t that why you got into business in the first place? With that focus, you will become excited about passing your message, your passion to everyone you meet which of course leads to far more interest from your prospects.

Give it a go and watch how more and more people will be interested in what you do and ask you what you can do for them.

One of the easiest way’s to improve here is to come up with an interesting, compelling and passionate answer to the question ‘What do you do?’

I used to answer, ‘I am a life coach and help people move forward’. BOOOORRRRIIIINNG!!!!
Now I say, ‘As a Passion Coach I help my clients discover what they love to do and create the lifestyle they desire from it. ’ Now do you think that is going to create some curiosity around what I do? Well, I can tell you that the answer is a resounding ‘YES’.

Take this example:-
At networking events, I meet people in the mortgage industry all the time and most of them say, ‘I am a mortgage broker’. Well, big deal, how boring is that. If you met a mortgage broker that said, ‘I help get my clients into the homes they love where they can create lifetime memories’. Now, that’s going to spark more interest than the first version, for sure.

Ok, so my point here is to discover what it is you are passionate about around what you do and then find a compelling way to describe it so that you stand out from the crowd. The successful people we know and admire, ALL stand out from the crowd. They are willing to stand up for who they are and what they believe in and scream it out loud to the whole world. That is one of their biggest secrets.
