Let's face it, if you don't know how to sell then you're business is going to struggle. So what are the basic key elements that you need to educate yourself on to improve your sales skills and your bottom line results? sales test, sales skills, sales processes, selling skills

1. Human Nature

 

Selling has to do with the ability of selling to one's desires and needs. If you do not understand the basic needs of your consumers, you'll not only pitch far out of the ball park, you'll not connect with them. Spend time with your clients and find out what interests them, what their greatest challenges are and how as a business you can help them solve them. Never assume that you know exactly what they are. As our world environment changes, so do your consumers needs. The business community needs to stay up to date of the latest changes to move with the environment.

 

2. Ability to Relate

 

Have you ever dealt with a service provider and you were able to relate to them immediately? In some instances the service provider would have used techniques to become more relatable and appealing to you. This could have been through the use of similar stories of which relate directly to your experience or they could have simply used a series of NLP techniques. Neuro linguistic programming is a form of relating better to individuals. Techniques applied include, tonality, speaking speed, eye contact and mirroring. Each of these are essential in day to day communications with your friends and consumers. Research more on this topic and purchase various books and CD's. This is a must have for anyone needing to relate better to their consumer and increase their sales.

 

3. Processes

 

If you don't have a process and your current sales are literally coming from sheer luck, then you could run into trouble in the future. A sales process outlines the clear steps that you need to take to bring your prospects to a purchasing decision. 4. Trust the Process

 

A lot of business owners fail to generate enough sales clearly due to the fact that they do not trust the process once one has been implemented. Once you have found a sales process that works for your business, don't keep trying to re-create it from the bottom up. Trust it, make minor adjustments and continue using it. It is very easy to forget the clear steps that we need to take to convert a prospect to a customer if we don't have an outlined plan on how that works. Trusting the process will also assist in limiting any fears, if you have them, on selling.
