Optimising your website to get to the top of Google should be on the priority list of almost every business owner.  

However Google have once again thrown another spanner in the works to stop SEO companies and businesses from discovering Google's highly guarded secrets.

The next dramatic change to occur is for Google to now penalise website owners that post duplicated content across the web in hope that it will improve their Google rankings.

For example, you write an article and get it posted on various websites across the internet with links back to your site. Because it is duplicated content that is directed towards your site, Google ranks it lower because it is not unique content. Unique content being one of a kind.

Google are dedicated to the consumer to provide them with content that is not only unique but content in which no one has pulled any real tricks to get it seen.

When optimising your website for Google consider a few key things, including;

1. Post your articles on a high traffic website that ranks highers than yours or if you are already getting high Google rankings, post it on your own site to increase the unique content on your site.

2. If you would like to promote your articles via other channels turn them into downloadable pdf documents that provide a link and promotion of your business on the last page of the pdf download.

With this new information you could go either way, get really pissed off or take it in your stride and make the subsequent changes straight away.
